Funny Poop
·         ONLY A TRUE GOLFER WILL UNDERSTAND
o    Don't buy a putter until you've had a chance to throw it.
o    Never try to keep more than 300 separate thoughts in your mind during your swing.
o    When your shot has to carry over a water hazard, you can either hit one more club or two more balls.
o    If you're afraid a full shot might reach the green while the foursome ahead of you is still putting out, you have two options: a) You can immediately shank a lay-up, or, b) You can wait until the green is clear and top a ball halfway there.
o    The less skilled the player, the more likely he is to share his ideas about the golf swing.
o    No matter how bad you are playing, it is always possible to play worse.
o    The inevitable result of any golf lesson is the instant elimination of the one critical unconscious motion that allowed you to compensate for all of your many other errors.
o    Everyone replaces his divot after a perfect approach shot.
o    A golf match is a test of your skill against your opponents' luck.
o    It is surprisingly easy to hole a fifty foot putt than a 10 foot one...
o    Nonchalant putts count the same as chalant putts.
o    It's not a ‘gimme' if you're still 5 yards away.
o    You can hit a two acre fairway 10% of the time and a two inch branch 90% of the time.
o    If you really want to get better at golf, go back and take it up at a much earlier age.
o    Since bad shots come in groups of three, a fourth bad shot is actually the beginning of the next group of three.
o    When you look up, causing an awful shot, you will always look down again at exactly the moment when you ought to start watching the ball if you ever want to see it again.
o    Every time a golfer makes a birdie, he must subsequently make two triple bogeys to restore the fundamental equilibrium of the universe.
o    If you want to hit a 7 iron as far as Tiger Woods does, simply try to lay up just short of a water hazard.
o    To calculate the speed of a player's downswing, multiply the speed of his back-swing by his handicap; ie. back-swing 20 mph, handicap 15, downswing = 300 mph.
o    There are two things you can learn by stopping your back-swing at the top and checking the position of your hands: how many hands you have, and which one is wearing the glove.
o    Hazards attract; fairways repel.
o    A ball you can see in the rough from 50 yards away is not yours.
o    If there is a ball on the fringe and a ball in the bunker, your ball is in the bunker.  If both balls are in the bunker, yours is in the footprint or embedded in the far sidewall.
o    It's easier to get up at 6:00 a.m. to play golf than at 10:00 a.m. to mow the lawn.
o    A good drive and 2nd shot on to the 18th green has stopped many a golfer from giving up the game.
o    Golf is the perfect thing to do on Sunday because you always end up having to pray a lot.
o    A good golf partner is one who's always slightly worse than you are... that's why I get so many calls to play with friends.
o    If there's a storm rolling in, you'll be having the game of your life.
o    Golf balls are like eggs.  They're white.  They're sold by the dozen.  And you need to buy fresh ones each week.
o    It's amazing how a golfer who never helps out around the house will replace his divots, repair his ball marks, and rake his sand traps.
o    If your opponent has trouble remembering whether he shot a six or a seven, he probably shot an eight (or worse).
o    It takes longer to learn to be a good golfer than it does to become a brain surgeon.
o    On the other hand, you don't get to ride around on a cart, drink beer, eat hot dogs if you are performing Brain Surgery!!!!
HAPPY GOLFING...

Weekly Poop 3/21/18

Roost #44 Poop
·         From the Prez – It's obvious, like a lot of social organizations, our Roost Membership has been shrinking and getting older.  At the same time, we are bringing in new members, but we often lose them after a year or two.  What can we do to change things up?  I would love to hear from new members about how we can get you more involved and if you have any ideas for new activities or programs or questions about the Roost.  And long-standing members, are we missing something?  Are there things we can do to get you more involved again?  Please email me or any of the officers, your thoughts and ideas.  My email is:eric_waterman@comcast.net.  Still looking for member feedback.  Heard from a couple members.
Let's make sure we have a great turnout for the Council Parade on June 2nd.  Last year's award-winning Zombie Group was a blast.
Last month’s Roost mini-golf party/tournament was a sellout and enjoyed by all.  Thanks goes out to all 36 members and guests who attended and a special acknowledgement and thank you to The Greene Turtle for their excellent food spread and generous donation of $125 in gift certificates to sweeten the prizes.
The next Roost Meeting is at our regular meeting spot at OC 360 in the Fenwick Inn on April 12th at 7:30.  At the meeting, we will have sign-up sheets for volunteers to work the Beer Booth at Springfest.
Remember that your Roost Membership card entitles you to a 20% discount on food, beverage & apparel purchases at the Original Greene Turtle (116th St.).  We encourage all Roost members and committees to patronize the Original Greene Turtle!
Remember that we collect plastic grocery bags at every Roost meeting.  These bags are used by Diakonia (Local Food Bank & Homeless Shelter) to distribute food contributions to the needy.  My white Ford pickup truck is parked in front of OC 360 at every Roost meeting.  Simply put your plastic bags (tied up tightly) in the bed of the truck.  This is a great way to recycle plastic bags for a good cause.

·         Convention: It's time to start thinking about this year's Convention and Parade to be held at the Castle at the Sand from May 31 to June 3, 2018.  Registration is $60 per person.  Your registration form and check (made out to Ravens Roost 44) need to be submitted to me by our April 12th meeting.  There are separate forms and costs for children--if you need that information, please see me.
Commemorative shirts are also available.  Color choices for men are:  ash, purple and white for t-shirts and tank tops; ladies--gray, purple, and white for V-neck t-shirts or tanks, and ash and purple for hoodies.  Costs are $11-16 for men's, $13-15 for ladies, and $22 to $28 for the hoodies. The Council is also offering moisture wick short-sleeve and long-sleeves shirts in white, gray and purple.  The moisture wick short sleeve range is from $13 to $19 for short-sleeve and $16-$20 for long-sleeve.
This is an opportunity to get to know other Roosts and to get to know our own members better. We especially welcome our newer members to participate this year, and hope those who have attended before will come back.  There are lots of activities during the weekend, including horseshoes, volleyball, a scavenger hunt, bingo, etc.  More info on those will come at a later date.
I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have at the meeting, or any time.  Please e-mail me at jelder1076@gmail.com, or call me at 410-251-4360.  Let's have as many of us as possible!  Convention Schedule:

Multi-platinum MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner, is one of country music’s most recognizable hit-makers.  With a rich, deep voice and distinctive style, Turner has sold more than 8 million units, is a disciple of traditional country music and one of the youngest members of the esteemed Grand Ole Opry.  From his 2003 platinum-selling debut Long Black Train to his most recent 2017 Billboard No. 1 release, Deep South, Turner has garnered multiple GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM nominations.  Turner’s hits include “Your Man,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “Firecracker,” “Would You Go with Me,” “All Over Me,” and “Time Is Love,” the most played country song of 2012.
Turner released his sixth studio album Deep South in March featuring the #1 hit single “Hometown Girl.” Turner shares, “I’ve lived a lot of life since the release of my last album (Punching Bag) and I’ve learned a lot during the making of this album.  I have grown as a writer and as an artist.  It’s been cool to see this culmination of life and lessons and age boiled down into this project and I am really proud of Deep South.”  Turner wrote four of the 11 tracks on the highly-anticipated album including the title track and he is impressing fans and critics alike.
Rolling Stone declares that Turner, with his “river deep baritone,” delivers an “eagerly awaited album from a country purist.”  PEOPLE Magazine says the “Nashville veteran flaunts his deep bass” on Deep South and that the album is “an ode to down-home staples, from finding that perfect love on ‘Hometown Girl’ to savoring the laid-back life on the title track.”

·         Any woman can have the body of a 21-year-old, as long as she buys him a few drinks first.
·         Bill has worked in a pickle factory for several years.  One day he confesses to his wife that he has a terrible urge to stick his penis into the pickle slicer.  His wife suggests that he see a therapist to talk about it, but Bill vows to overcome this rash desire on his own.
A few weeks later, Bill returns home absolutely ashen.  His wife asks, "What's wrong, Bill?"
"Do you remember how I told you about my tremendous urge to put my penis into the pickle slicer?"
His wife gasps, "My God, Bill, what happened?"
"I got fired."
"No, Bill -- I mean, what happened with the pickle slicer?"
"Oh, um, she got fired, too."
