Weekly Poop 10/3/12

Roost #44 Poop
  • Dates to Remember:

  • Tonight - Ravens Rap Show, 7pm.  This is the 10th season of Ravens Rap, and through all of the changes over the years, the one constant has been Ravens Roost #44.  Let’s make the 10th season the best ever!
From The Szlas: Just wanted to let you all know that I just heard from Eileen @ The Turtle and I will be doing the next two TV shows. This weeks show is on Weds @ 7 but the following week the show will be on Tuesday the 9th @ 7. This weeks show will feature Bruce Laird, so hope to see everyone there. STEVE SZLASA
From Eileen: Yes, we are having a Ravens Jersey giveaway every show. Except last week, it was missed. So Steve will be giving away an extra one if not this week in the next couple shows.  Reschedule Reminders: (2) Another reschedule because of conflict w/ Comcast is show prior to Oct. 14th, Cowboys game. The show can't be on Wed., Oct. 10th. As it stands now, we made it Tues 10/9.  (3) Then because of Thanksgiving, we'll film on Tuesday, Nov. 20th not Wed, the 21st.  And instead of just 1 set of tickets to a game some distance away, this year we've made a sponsorship deal with JCTickets.net about giving us a few home game sets plus a close trip!!! So we're HAPPY to say we have to giveaway a set to the Raiders game Nov. 11th and a set to the Broncos game, Dec. 16th!! We'll have 1 more set for a home game, as yet to be announced. PLUS Big GAME this year w/ bus trip & couple other perks will be the Game in DC against the Redskins, Dec. 9th!!  Bruce Laird will be doing a few special guest appearances and hope to give you those dates soon. We're happy to say John Corsi, owner of JCTickets.net will be coming to show! It'll be great to have Billy Carder of BJ's back, who told Steve he'd be happy to come for his 1st visit since we went to TV! Others will be announced soon! Specifics on your chances of winning tickets giveaways will be made clear at this week's show.  Thanks, Eileen.

  • Presidents Message Oct. 2012
The Roost Road Trip to KC is coming up and I am looking forward to enjoying a great time with friends visiting a new city, eating some GREAT Bar-B-Q, and watching the Ravens beat up on the Chiefs!  A big THANKS to Mike Grimes for putting the trip together.  The design of the sweatshirt this year is especially nice.  For you newer members, these Road Trips are a lot of fun and you should seriously consider joining us next year.
The RR44 Election of Officers is coming up in Jan.  The candidates names will be read at the Dec. meeting, voted on at the Jan. meeting and the new officers will be installed at the Feb. meeting.  Although there are several members who have voiced a desire to run, ANY member of the Roost in good standing, who has been a member for at least 4 months prior to the official nomination in Dec., may run for any office.  The Nomination Committee (Paul Neal and Frank Berterman) is currently accepting nominations.  If you would like to run for an office, contact Paul or Frank.
The RR44 Penguin Swim Team needs your help.  Our Goal this year is to raise $5,000 to benefit AGH.  You can join the team and/or help us raise money for this good cause.  We are looking for items to raffle off at our annual Christmas Party Chinese Auction, as well as monetary donations.  The easiest way to help is to go to;
                                www.penguinswim.atlanticgeneral.org
where you can join the team and donate online.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

We have several new members who have joined our Roost in the last couple months.  Lets be sure to make them feel welcome and to take a moment to introduce ourselves to the new faces.  NEW MEMBERS, the best way to get to know the current members and really participate in the Roost is to come to the Ravens Rap Show and join a Committee.  You can see me or any officer/Board member for info on the various committees and they will all welcome your help.

Funny Poop
  • A nun was sitting at the airport, waiting for her flight to Chicago. She looked over in the corner and saw one of those weight machines that tells your fortune and thought to herself "I'll give it a try and see what it tells me".

She went over to the machine, stepped up on the scale and put her coin in, out came a card that read "You are a nun, you weigh 120 lbs. and you are going to Chicago ".

The nun sat back down. She told herself that the machine probably gives the same card to everyone. The more she thought about it the more curious she got so she decided to try it again she went back to the machine and again put her coin in and out came a card that read: "You are a nun, you weigh 120 lbs. , you are going to Chicago and you are going to play a violin".

The nun says to herself "I know that is wrong - I have never played a musical instrument even once in my life". She sat back down. From out of nowhere a man came over and sat down, putting his violin case on the seat between them. Without thinking, she opened the man's case, took out the violin, and started playing beautiful music.

Surprised at what she'd just done, she looked over at the machine, thinking "This is incredible, I've got to try this again".

Back to the machine she went, put in another coin, and another card came out. It read "You are a nun, you weigh 120 lbs. , you are going to Chicago and you are going to break wind".

Now she knows the machine is wrong as she thought to herself, "I've never broken wind in public a single time in my life". But getting down off the machine she slipped, and as she was straining to keep herself from falling to the floor, she broke wind.

Absolutely stunned, she sat back down and looked at the machine. She said to herself "This is truly remarkable. I've got to try this again". She went back to the machine, put in another coin and another card came out it read: "You are a nun, you weigh 120 lbs. , you have fiddled and farted around and missed your flight to Chicago. "

And put that ball across the line
So fly with talons spread wide
Go in and strike with Ravens pride
Fight! Fight! Fight!
Ravens dark wings take flight
Dive in and show them your might
For Baltimore and Maryland
You will fly on to victory
