·    Penguin Swim Team:

We want to thank everyone who registered for the swim and helped us raise money for AGH, our local hospital.  If you go to the Penguin Swim Website (aghpenguinswim.org) and look at the donations raised by our Team members so far, the total is close to $5,000.  In addition to those donations, we have additional funds raised by our annual end of year raffle and the Burley Oak Brewing Fundraiser, which will put our total a little over $6,500.  There is still time to register for the swim AND to get more donations, so that number may go even higher.

Both the RR44 Penguin Swim Team Members, and supportive Roost members have done a great job helping raise money this year.  Fortunately, we have all been lucky to avoid any major issues with the COVID pandemic so far.  Unfortunately, in an effort to keep everyone safe, THE RR44 PENGUIN SWIM TEAM has decided to NOT have a hospitality room this year.  Although the individual Team members, all the Roost members, and everyone else involved with the Penguin Swim enjoy the camaraderie of getting together and cheering each other on, the new COVID variant, and the fact that it is spreading much faster than previous ones, makes gathering inside much more problematic.

The plan currently is to have all of the Team members meet at the beach end of 92nd street on the north side of the Princess Royale Hotel no later than 12:45pm.  The Team will walk onto the beach as a group when the swim takes place at 1pm.  Be sure to bring a towel and a robe or sweat pants to change into before you drive home.  Friends and Team supporters are welcome to join us outside as well.  EVERYONE should wear a mask!

PLEASE NOTE THAT, CURRENTLY, THIS CHANGE APPLYS ONLY TO OUR TEAM.

If any Team member is still uncomfortable doing the swim due to COVID concerns, you have an option to do a “Cyber Swim”.  Just take an ice-cold dip wherever you are and post a photo or video of your Personal Penguin Swim on social media using “#OCPenguinswim”.  Be sure to make the post public so we can see it.  An ice-cold shower in your own home will suffice (just be sure to wear a bathing suit!).

Thanks again to everyone who has helped OC Ravens Roost 44 raise money for this very worthy cause!  We sincerely hope that for next year’s Penguin Swim, our ability to gather together safely inside will be less of a concern.

Thanks,

Gary

Funny Poop

·       A man and his wife were getting dressed for a big event.  After putting on her dress, she asked her husband, "does this dress make my ass look fat?"

The husband sighed, and asked his wife, "Honey, do you promise me you won't get mad, no matter how I answer?"

His wife said, "I promise, whatever you say, it’ll be forgotten, and I'll never bring it up again."

The husband looked her over and said, "I slept with your sister."
