Weekly Poop 3/13/19

Roost #44 Poop
·         From the Prez
Lots of activities coming up as this endless winter refuses to go away- starting with the Harrington Casino Trip and the St. Patrick's Day Parade this month. See other activities in the works by the Entertainment Committee. The Annual Convention is coming up too. See the Convention Report. Jo Ann Elder will have all necessary Convention information at the next Roost meeting.  As you will see, to get the lowest registration fee for the Convention, you must sign up and bring your registration fee to the next Roost meeting scheduled for March 14th at OC 360 at 7:30.
The Golf Scholarship Committee will meet on Wednesday, March 13 at the Original Greene Turtle at 5:30.  Come join us to see how you can help in this worthy cause of raising money for college scholarships for graduating seniors at Stephen Decatur High School, Indian River High School and Worcester Prep.  This will be our 22nd Annual Tournament and it will be held on Friday, May 31st at the Ocean Pine Golf Course during the weekend of the Convention.  We have several new members on the Committee but we are always looking for more!  We will also need volunteers at the Golf Course to help manage the tournament.  Come to the next meeting and check it out!  It’s a worthy cause that directly benefits our community.  Information on our Tournament is available on our website www.ocravensroost44.com as well as the Council of Raven Roost website - www.councilrr.com.
Remember that your Roost Membership card entitles you to a 20% discount on food, beverage & apparel purchases at the Original Greene Turtle. We encourage Roost members and Roost Committees to patronize the Original Greene Turtle. By the way, the Original Greene Turtle is a major sponsor of our College Golf Scholarship Tournament every year and we appreciate their support.
The Council of Raven Roosts is looking for a photographer to cover the Convention.  If you have a recommendation, please see me at the next meeting or email me at eric_waterman@comcast.net.
My white Ford pickup truck will be at the next meeting.  The back will be open if you would like to donate plastic bags to Diakonia (local food bank and homeless shelter).  The bags are used to help distribute food contributions to the needy.  Simply put your plastic bags (TIED UP TIGHTLY) in the bed of the truck.  This is a great way to recycle plastic bags for a good cause.

·         Parade: Thanks to everyone that has signed up for the parade.  All marchers please meet at Beach Copy Saturday morning @ 10 am to decorate the truck and enjoy some pre-parade tailgating - BYOB ️.  Rumor has it Frank will be making Orange Crushes.  As always, there will be no parking available at Beach Copy.  We recommend parking down around 45th Street so when the parade ends, you’ll be close to the finish line.  The parade folks recommend not stopping until you get to 42nd street, or even the Convention Center.  That’s where we’ll go to break down after the parade.
We have purple vests to wear over our clothes, so it won't matter whether it's t shirt or parka weather.  Something green would be nice under the vests!
After the parade, everyone is invited to upstairs at the Original Greene Turtle for some post-parade festivities.  We will have some free snacks for the marchers, but everyone is invited to join in fellowship!
Thanks once again Debbie Banashak for the use of her facilities as always, Rich Hansen for arranging the port-a-pottie, Kim Bankard for the decorations, and Shawn and Dawn @ the Turtle for having us afterward.  Thanks again!  Susan.

Local Poop
·         Saturday - St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival, Coastal Highway from 57th Street to 45th Street
Much anticipated Ocean City event!  Everyone loves to be Irish at Ocean City's famous parade.  Marching units, floats, local celebrities.  The Parade procession begins at noon at 60th Street and marches south on Coastal Highway to the 44th Street Shopping Center where the viewing and judging stands will be located.
At the 44th Street Village, a fun Irish-American festival is held with food, drink and merriment.
Trophies will be awarded for best marching band, best commercial float, best non commercial float, best motorized unit, best adult marching unit, best youth marching unit, special committee award, judges' choice award and best overall entry in the parade.
The 45th Street Shopping Center will once again be transformed into a spirited Irish festival complete with live entertainment from Kevin O'Brennan and the Shoreline Band, Irish apparel, raffles and plenty of food and drink.
For more information, contact Buck Mann at 410-289-6156.

Funny Poop
·         The big city man discovered he had no writing paper at all for his personal correspondence.
He went into the small town near-by and found only an old-fashioned country store. Behind the counter was a really nice looking young redhead, quite obviously a local farm girl.
He asked, "Do you keep stationery?"
"Well," she giggled, "I can...until I have an orgasm, then I just go plain wild and crazy!"

·         Got Poop?  Let me know!  I’m going to try to get this out every Wednesday so if you get it to me by Tuesday I’ll try to include it.  Your input is appreciated.
