  • Roost ApparelAn order will be going to Red Sun for the 3 Raven's Head Flag Logo shirts after the next meeting on July 9th.  These have been extremely popular and I know I get people asking me wherever I go, "Where did you get that shirt?  Can I buy one?"  Don't get left out and don't assume that there will be extras in your favorite color and size.  The sweatshirt jackets can be ordered in black and grey and are $25.  The long sleeved T's can be ordered in grey, black and purple and are $20.  The short sleeved T's are $15 and can be ordered in just about every color imaginable, but black and purple are the ordered favorites so far.  I've done some in pink (ladies but hey we aren't judging), red (Terps fan) and orange (Orioles fan) and they turned out really cute.  I can also order children's sizes and of course they are less (but it depends on what size you are ordering).  This is the second order of these and not sure there will be enough interest for a third, so if you want one (or more), are thinking about one for a gift for your family and friends, don't sit on this!  You can place your order at the July 9 meeting (I have a few grey ones left so you can see the style and buy those) or email Maggie at millermaggie@mchsi.com.   Don't be left out, get on the list for the order!
Football season will be upon us soon!  Did your favorite player leave the team and now you don't have a jersey and spending another $100 bucks just isn't in the plan?  How about a Roost 44 jersey?  They cost $35 and you'll never be traded!   See Maggie at the next meeting or email her at millermaggie@mchsi.com.  Various sizes still available.  Show your Roost pride at the stadium!
New to the Roost?  Do you have a Turtle, Ox and Raven logo short sleeved T?  We have a few left and they will be at the July meeting as well.  Purple and grey available - cute logo  $15.
Last but not least:  new Roost members might like a purple Hawaiian shirt for $40!  Taking orders for those and hope to place the order after the July 9th meeting.  You'll see a bunch of them at the upcoming picnic, I'm sure.  And those of your whose shirt has been "shrunken in the dryer"....you'll need a new one too so order one!  Also Roost 44 golf shirts - yes the purple ones with the "slimming white side stripes" can be ordered anytime.  They are $35 and come in both men's style and ladies v-neck collar style with a Roost logo on the left chest.  An order for these will also be going in to Red Sun after the July 9th meeting.
Here's to being the best dressed Roost in Maryland!  Go Ravens!

  • Tomorrow - The Beach Boys at Freeman Stage, Freeman Stage.  You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they’ve had and how many millions of albums they’ve sold.  But these conventional measurements fall short when you’re assessing the impact of The Beach Boys.  To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions.  But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt. Happily for us all, The Beach Boys continue to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style that marked their explosive debut over 50 years ago.  Few, if any, acts can match The Beach Boys’ concert presence, spirit and performance.  They were center-stage at Live Aid, multiple Farm Aids, the Statue of Liberty’s 100th Anniversary Salute, the Super Bowl and the White House. On one day alone—July 4, 1985—they played to nearly 2 million fans at shows in Philadelphia and Washington, D. C.  The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, who along with Christian Love, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten continue the legacy of the iconic American band. This tour will not feature Brian Wilson, Al Jardine or David Marks.  $40 – $75.  Assigned seating.

Ocean City.
  • Friday - Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue at Freeman Stage, Freeman Stage.  New Orleans native Trombone Shorty began his career as a bandleader at the young age of six, toured internationally at age 12, and spent his teens playing with various brass bands throughout New Orleans and touring worldwide with Lenny Kravitz. He fronts Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, a funk/rock/jazz/hip-hop band. Together they have toured across the U.S., Europe, Australia, Russia, Japan and Brazil. In 2010, Trombone Shorty released his debut album, the Grammy®-nominated “Backatown,” followed by “For True” in 2011, which topped Billboard magazine’s Contemporary Jazz Chart for 12 weeks. His newest album, “Say That to This,” was released in 2013 and features funk/jazz elements of New Orleans.  $35 – $60.  Assigned seating.

Funny Poop
  • One day a teacher had a taste test with her students. She picked a little boy to do the first test. She blindfolded him, put a Hershey kiss in his mouth and asked, "Do you know what it is?  "No, I don't," said the little boy  "Okay, I'll give you a clue. It's the thing your daddy wants from your Mom before he goes to work."  Suddenly, a little girl at the back of the room yelled, "Spit it out! It's a piece of ass!"

  • Got poop? Let me know! I’m going to try to get this out every Wednesday so if you get it to me by Tuesday I’ll try to include it. Your input is appreciated.

Frank

 Baltimore Ravens, let’s go
And put that ball across the line
So fly with talons spread wide
Go in and strike with Ravens pride
Fight! Fight! Fight!
Ravens dark wings take flight
Dive in and show them your might
For Baltimore and Maryland
You will fly on to victory
