Roost #44 Poop
·         From the Prez
o    Next Roost Meeting- September 12, Thursday at 7:30 at the Carousel. Between 117 & 118 Streets. Proceed through the lobby and ice rink to the restaurant at the ocean front, Meeting on the left side of the restaurant.

o    October meeting will be at Alley Oops on 131st/Coastal Hwy.  Enter front door, turn right, walk past bar to a room in the NE corner of the building.  We will have HH drink menu and HH food menu.  The room seats 60 people.  They are hoping to do us every month but there may be problems in June, July and August.

o    Walk for Recovery- The Roost donated $100.00 to the Walk for Recovery event on the Boardwalk Saturday, September 7th. This is sponsored by the Atlantic Club and the Worcester County Warriors Against Opiate Addiction. The five mile walk will start at 2PM on the Boardwalk. Proceeds from the event go toward scholarships that support high school students affected by addiction and help get people into treatment. Susan and I will be marching. Registration is $20 per individual. Contact me if you're interested in joining us and possibly forming a team from the Roost. o    Member of the Year- Time for nominations for Member of the Year Award.  Nominations should be in writing and sent to Chairman of the Board Larry Gerst or present to Larry at next Roost meeting.  Only Board members, Officers and past award members are eligible to nominate winners of the award.  Please contact me if you have any questions - eric_waterman@comcast.net.

o    Convention Cooler/Bags which were not available at the Convention have been delivered.  They will be available at the Roost meeting on September 12th for the members who registered for the Convention.  Contact Eric (eric_waterman@comcast.net) if you won't be at the meeting or if you would like to pick up your cooler bag prior to the meeting.

·         Ticket Exchange:
o    Nick Costa (non-Ravens Roost 44 member) is selling his Ravens’ PSLs and season tickets.  Nick’s phone is 410-428-0131.
o    2 seats up for sale.  They are Section 519, Row 17, Seats 7 & 8 - $1,350.00 for the whole season or I am selling for individual games.  Thanks, Matt Herrmann matt.herrmann@comcast.net
·         Game Bus: Bill Regan will be running a game bus this season.  Cost is for the 8 game home season is $400.  bregan@redsuncustom.com.
·         Penguin Swim:
o    SAVE THE DATE!!  Wednesday Sept 4th, OC RR44 2019 Bar-Hop Cruise to benefit the Ravens Roost #44 Penguin Swim Team in support of the 26th annual Atlantic General Hospital Penguin Swim.  ALL MONEY RAISED IS DONATED TO Atlantic General Hospital.
§  Meet at MR Ducks.  HH prices on food and drinks till 6pm
§  5:45 PM board “The Explorer”.  Boat leaves PROMPTLY at 6pm.  Will return about 10:15 PM 
§  Cash bar on boat ($3 beer, $4 wine, $5 mixed drinks).
§  Itinerary will be available soon, but last stop will be Sunset Grill.
§  Cost is $35/pp, includes boat ride, HH prices on select food & drinks, plus 5 raffle tickets for prizes drawn at each stop.  LIMITED TO 65 PEOPLE.  This sells out fast so please sign up early.  Send an email to; garywm@mchsi.com to reserve a spot. 
o    The OC Ravens Roost #44 Penguin Swim Team registration page is now available.  Anyone wishing to join the Team, simply go to aghpenguinswim.org, click on "join a team", click on OC Ravens Roost #44, and then register.  Note that it requires a $25 donation by credit card to register.  If you were on the Team last year, be sure to click on "Returning Penguins" to get started.  I will have more information on upcoming events at the Wednesday meeting.
·         Ravens Rap: Ravens Rap returns!  Join Mike Bradley, Tony Lombardi, and a plethora of special guests every Monday as they review the previous week’s game and preview the upcoming game.  Ravens Rap begins Monday, September 9, 7pm and continues every Monday throughout the season.  Drinks and food specials!
·         Entertainment:
o    Entertainment Schedule 2019:
§  Saturday, October 5thRavens Roost #44 Crab Feast @ the Shrimp Boat in West OC, 12-3pm.  Crabs, chicken, corn on the cob, draft beer.  Members only.  Sign up sheet at the next meeting.
§  Friday, October 11 - Haunted Lighthouse tour, 6pm, $34pp, $25 for 11 and under.
§  Saturday, October 26 - Kent Island pub crawl no fee.
§  Friday, December 13th, 6:30 – 9:30pm, Roost Christmas Party @ Mio Fratello’s in Fenwick Island.  Live music, 3 drink tix per person.  Dinner choices will be announced at the August Meeting.  Price is $40pp, non-member spouse or SO $65.

·         Sunday - Measure for Measure by the Brown Box Theatre Project in Sunset Park, Sunset Park.  The Brown Box Theatre Project presents William Shakespeare's Measure For Measure coming to Ocean City's Sunset Park!  This performance is free, outdoors, and open to all audiences.  No tickets are needed.  Just bring lawn seating, blankets, or chairs.  This tragic Shakespearean play is a story of corruption like no other.  A duke in disguise leaves the fate of his people to a ruthless judge.
