The on-line Roost Apparel Store is closed. The store will reopen October 1, with shipments in November in time for Christmas.

Fall dance being considered for future.
Theresa is working on a Seacrets Distillery Tour, probably now after season.

Christmas party. Date is Dec 13th 12:30 to 4:30 at Aloft on 45th and Coastal Hwy. Cost will be $50 per person. Money due by October mtg. We will have crab balls, steamed shrimp, meatballs, pulled pork and cheeseburger sliders, Buffalo crab dip and a desert bar. They will have a cash bar open. Ravens game against Buccaneers will be on big screen TV.
Would like to have Shrimp/Fried chicken dinner at Legion if we can get enough interested in it. Will have money and plant wheels. Date TBD.
Entertainment mtgs will be at 6:30 before every monthly Roost mtg. Please consider joining so we can plan more fun things to do in the coming year.

Our permanent meeting host is the American Legion Post 166 located at Coastal Hwy and 23rd Street. At the request of the Legion, meetings will now be on the first Tuesday of each month.

Roost members please enter through the handicap door on the 23rd street north side.

Be sure to sign in at the table at the door.

The general membership meeting starts promptly at 7:30. There may be some committee

meetings going on before that. However, members are invited and encouraged to arrive as

early as 6:00 to enjoy drinks and food specials The Post kitchen stays open until 7:30 on

our meeting nights to accommodate us. This is a great time to enjoy the facility and engage

with other members. The Post accepts cash only.

Local Poop

This is a big week in Ocean City. The main event is Oceans Calling, which takes over the Inlet and lower Boardwalk Friday–Sunday, September 25–27.

🌊 Ocean City this week

Wednesday, Sept. 23

Relatively quiet around town. The local event calendars show no major scheduled event today.
This is actually a good day to enjoy the beach, Boardwalk, fishing, or dinner before the festival crowds arrive.

Thursday, Sept. 24

Still relatively quiet, but you'll start seeing Oceans Calling setup and increased activity around the Inlet.
If you're looking for a relaxed beach day, I'd choose Thursday over the weekend.

🎵 Friday, Sept. 25 — Oceans Calling begins

Three-day festival at the Ocean City Inlet.
Dave Matthews Band headlines Friday, with Hootie & the Blowfish, Ludacris, O.A.R., Yellowcard, Shaggy, Liz Phair and others on the lineup.

🎸 Saturday, Sept. 26

Twenty One Pilots and Gwen Stefani headline.
Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, 311, All Time Low, Violent Femmes and others are also scheduled.

🎶 Sunday, Sept. 27

Mumford & Sons and Matchbox Twenty headline.
The Head and the Heart, My Morning Jacket, Hanson, Caamp, OK Go and others are scheduled.

🏖️ If you're there but NOT going to Oceans Calling

I'd actually take advantage of Wednesday or Thursday for the beach and Boardwalk. The Ocean City Boardwalk will be considerably more enjoyable before the festival crowds descend.

For a waterfront evening, Fager's Island is a good option, particularly if you want sunset, dinner and live entertainment. Sunset Grille in West Ocean City is another waterfront choice.

And if you're looking for the full Ocean City party atmosphere, Seacrets is doing its usual bayfront/nightlife thing.

One thing I'd flag

Friday through Sunday will be substantially different from a normal late-September Ocean City weekend. Oceans Calling is a major three-day festival, with national acts and a large crowd concentrated around the Inlet and Boardwalk.

Funny Poop

A man awoke one evening to discover prowlers in his storage shed. He immediately called 911, gave his address, to report the prowlers and possible burglary. The operator at the other end said "Are they in your house?" He said they were not, only in his storage shed in back of the house. The operator said there were no cars available at that time. He thanked the operator, hung up the phone and counted to 30 and called again. "I just called you about prowlers in my storage shed. Well you do not have to worry, as I just shot them all dead!" Within seconds there were 3 police cars, an ambulance and fire engine at the scene. After capturing the prowlers red-handed, the policeman asked the caller, "I thought you said you had shot them all!" The man answered, "I thought you said there were no police available”.
