Sunday, July 7 – Ravens
Roost #44 Annual Summer Picnic at White Horse Park, 1-6 p.m. Cost is as follows: members $10, guests 21 and
over $15, guests 20 and below $10. All
adults who attend the picnic will be given a ticket for entrance into a 50-50 raffle
which will be drawn at the picnic. The
picnic includes food (chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, salads
etc.) as well as beer, soda and bottled water. There will also be games played such as
horseshoes and any other games folks come up with. Also featured will be "Mister OC"
playing tunes and flipping burgers! This
event is rain or shine as the community center at White Horse Park has also
been secured in case of bad weather. Anyone wishing to attend, please email Bill Cordwell

May and June meetings. All wishing to
attend must be signed up and paid by July 1, 2013, so we have an accurate count

performers, the Marshall Tucker Band will headline the main stage on Saturday,
April 20th from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. The southern rocker’s hit singles “Can’t You
See” and “Heard It In a Love Song” helped earn them seven gold and three platinum
albums during their career. The band’s
definitive blend of rock, rhythm and blues, jazz, country and gospel influenced
major country acts including Alabama, The Kentucky Headhunters, Confederate
Railroad and Travis Tritt.
The weekend’s complete line-up brings together an eclectic mix of
musicians ranging from classic rock, jazz, blues, calico and of course dance.

Saturday - Earth Day and Zoo Stampede 5K, Salisbury Zoo
Our Earth Day Celebration is a free event open to
everyone, and fun for the whole family. This
celebration aims to promote a reverence for wildlife while also raising
awareness for our environment.
There is excitement for every age: Zookeeper talks and
demonstrations, games, environmental activities, face-painting, great food and
over 20 Earth-friendly exhibitors featuring: the National Aquarium, Blackwater Wildlife
Refuge, Ward Museum and the Delmarva Discovery Center to name a few! Come celebrate and commemorate Mother Earth with
you community at the Salisbury Zoo!
The Zoo will hold its annual Zoo Stampede on April
20th at 9:00am. The Zoo Stampede,
sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes, is a 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Salisbury
Zoo. Registration is $18 in advance and
$20 the morning of the race. Runners can
pre-register by visiting Vernon Powell Shoes or by visiting our website to download
the race application. Runners can also
register at the Zoo the morning of the race starting at 7:30am. Free Tech shirts will be given to the first

These two guys had just gotten divorced and they swore they
would never have anything to do with women again. They were best friends and they decided to
move up to Alaska as far north as they could go and never look at a woman again.
They
got up there and went into a trader's store and told him, "Give us enough
supplies to last two men for one year."
The
trader got the gear together and on top of each one's supplies he laid a board
with a hole in it with fur around the hole.
The
guys said "What's that board for?" The trader said, "Well, where you're
going there are no women and you might need this."
They
said "No way! We've sworn off women
for life!" The trader said,"well
take the boards with you, and if you don't use them I'll refund your money next
year.
"Okay,"
they said and left. Next year this guy
came into the trader's store and said
"Give
me enough supplies to last one man for one year."
The
trader said "Weren't you in here last year with a partner?"
"Yeah"
said the guy.
"Where
is he?"
asked the trader.
"I
shot him" said the guy.
"Why?"
"I
caught him in bed with my board."
