You can still participate in the convention, but you will not be getting the goodie bag.  Contact Donna Chaplinski (410-627-7697) for more information.

Also think about any events you would wish to participate – There is Karaoke, Cuponk (like beer pong), Corn Hole, Mini Golf, Lip Sync, Volleyball, Bingo, Crazy Hat Parade, and possibly Horseshoes.

Parade:

Convention Parade:

Okay marchers, put on your best 60’s outfit and let’s groove!  It’ll be far out!

Entertainment:

·       Annual Roost 44 picnic Saturday, July 20th from 12 to 5 pm at Moose on Rt 20.  Roost members will pay $12 pp and receive 3 drink tickets for beer only.  Any beer after that is $2.  Non members will pay $20, no drink tickets.  Children 12 and under $15.  We will have the usual hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausages and fixings.  Donations of home made salads would be appreciated as well as home made desserts.  Sign up sheet will be set out at April's mtg.

·       Still working on next cruise.  Two choices, we have to pick one.  Bermuda out of Baltimore, May 2025 for 7 days or Caribbean 8 days out of Norfolk, May 2025.  I need to know who is going because we have to decide ASAP.  Bermuda trip us nearly full.  We will need initial deposit of $25 per person.  I will give more derailed info at tomorrow's mtg.

·       We have a few choices for away games.  Decisions where to go will be made after schedule is released.

·       We will be doing another Duckaneer pirate cruise this summer.  Details soon.

·       Tony will be having sign up sheet for our annual Shore Birds game at tomorrow’s meeting.

·       Any suggestions for future activities are very welcome.  Text Donna at 410-627-7697.  Thanks!

House:

Our permanent meeting host is the American Legion Post 166 located at Coastal Hwy and 23rd streets.

Please enter through the handicapped door on the 23rd street north side.  All membership meetings begin at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of each month.  However, all Roost members are invited to arrive early for food and drink specials at reasonable prices - a great place to have dinner before or during the meeting.  The Post only accepts cash for purchases.

The only likely changes to the meeting schedule are for an outside summer meeting at our annual family picnic and for a conflict at the post during the October bike week.

During football season we are invited to the Post for a game viewing party with the big projection screen along with tailgating food and drinks for sale.

Thanks,

Ron

From the Prez

Greetings to all..

A reminder that our next meeting will be held on September 8th at the American Legion in Ocean City @ 7:30…Sorry I missed the last meeting, but I’m guessing all went well..

I am looking for a volunteer to chair the nominating committee…please email me or contact me by phone if interested.. rjm73054@gmail.com and 410 446 7422…

As I have stated earlier I would like to set something up with the American Legion to host a couple of 1:00 games this season with our Roost..I just need a feedback to me or Ron Apperson of the House committee on a few things:

1-What games all would all be interested in

2-Have it for members only or to have it open for family and friends

3-What food items all would be interested in..or what the Legion can offer

Give it some thought and get back to me…I will further discuss with House committee…

Don’t forget the football sweepstakes for this year…see Michele’s report..

The Shorebirds game is tomorrow night and the Booze Cruise is coming up on September 7th..my thanks to Tony Chaplinski and Gary Miller for organizing these two events…

I'm reaching out to share that Sarah Ellison and I are teaming up to co-host the "Ravens Vault" through Blue Wire Podcasts and we officially launched July 25.

The show features two kinds of episodes:

o   The "Morning Ravens Vault" which delivers the most important Ravens news, in just 15 minutes.  These are released Monday-Friday.

o   Traditional long-form (30-45 min) conversations featuring interviews, expanded analysis and/or mailbag Q&A kinds of episodes.  These are released 1-2 times per week.

According to Chartable, our podcast ranks 15th in the country under Apple's football category as of earlier this week.

Funny Poop

·         A middle aged man goes into the doctor's office for a check-up with a litany of complaints.  The doctor speaks to the man’s wife alone and says, "There is nothing the matter with your husband.  If you make a couple of meals for him a day, let him watch his sports.  Do not complain at him too much and require him to listen.  Limit his exposure to in-laws and make love to him once a week.  Then, he’ll probably live another 20 years."

She returns to her husband’s side in the waiting room. He asks, "What did the doctor tell you?"

"You are going to be dying soon, my dear."
