Weekly Poop 2/15/17

Roost #44 Poop
  • Dates to Remember:
    • Thursday, February 23 – Roost Indoor Mini Golf
    • Thursday, March 2 – Entertainment Committee Meeting
    • Saturday, March 11 – St. Paddy’s Day Parade
    • Friday, June 2 – 20th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament
  • Road Trip 2017 – The Ravens game in London will be well represented by RR44. There are 24 people going on some combination of 3 trip options, plus a couple more who have made their own travel arrangements but will be at the game with us. If anyone is still interested, we MAY be able to add a few to the package and the price will probably be higher, but let me know ASAP.
Now that we have the London trip together, I am starting work on a possible trip to Nashville. I need to get a good idea of how many members are interested in going, so please let me know by email and I will have a sign up sheet at the Feb. meeting. I am looking at two options and will let the group decide which one they prefer after we have all the details.
    1) I will order the game tickets, reserve a block of rooms as we have done in the past, letting everyone call to make their own reservations and book their own airfare. There are a number of hotels right downtown that are convenient for walking to the stadium, restaurants, bars and entertainment areas. Downtown Nashville is very easy to navigate by foot and their are plenty of cabs if you need them.
    2) I will get Fandeavor to give us a price on a trip that will include airfare, hotel, game ticket and transportation to and from the airport.
Hopefully we will have more to cheer about this season.
    Thanks, Gary.

The committee is also looking for gift cards and new merchandise for the event.

Funny Poop
  • An elderly Christian lady was well-known for her faith and for her confidence in talking about it. She would stand in front of her house and say "God be praised" to all those who passed by.
Next door to her lived an atheist who would get so angry at her proclamations he would shout, "There ain't no Lord!!"
Hard times came upon the elderly lady, and she prayed for God to send her some assistance. She would pray out loud in her night prayer "Oh Lord! I need food!! I am having a hard time, please Lord, PLEASE LORD, SEND ME SOME GROCERIES!!"
One night the atheist happened to hear her as she was praying, and decided to play a prank on her. The next morning the lady went out on her porch and found a large bag of groceries. She raised her hands and shouted, "God be praised!."
The neighbor jumped from behind a bush and said, "Aha! I told you there was no Lord. I bought those groceries, God didn't."
The old lady laughed and clapped her hands and said, "God BE PRAISED. He not only sent me groceries, but he made the devil pay for them!"
