Our permanent meeting host is the
American Legion Post 166 located at Coastal Hwy and 23rd streets.
Please enter through the handicapped
door on the 23rd street north side.
All membership meetings begin at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of each
month. However, all Roost members are
invited to arrive early for food and drink specials at reasonable prices - a
great place to have dinner before or during the meeting. The Post only accepts cash for purchases.
The only likely changes to the
meeting schedule are for an outside summer meeting at our annual family picnic
and for a conflict at the post during the September bike week.
During football season we are invited
to the Post for a game viewing party with the big projection screen along with
tailgating food and drinks for sale.
Thanks,
Ron
AGH
Penguin Swim:
The RR44 Penguin Swim Team will be
sponsoring a guest bartending fundraiser at Ocean 13 on Thursday 10/10 from 6
to 9pm. That was the only date that
worked for everyone involved at the restaurant and AGH. I know that is the date of the October Roost
meeting, but maybe members can stop by after the meeting? I would like to have a couple Roost
celebrities get behind the bar for a half hour or so that evening. It could be either before or after the Roost
meeting if that helps.
Please let me know if you can make
it.
Tickets for the annual End of Year
Raffle will be available soon. Prizes
include; An amethyst pendant from Park Place Jewelers, $700 worth of Gift Cards
to various local restaurants, an In-Home Catered Seafood Dinner for 6 from The
Shrimp Boat, and A basket of Cheer.
Tickets are $10/each, 3 for $25, and 5 for $40.
Please consider joining the RR44
Penguin Swim Team. The goal is to have
each Team member raise donations from friends & family, as well as helping
the Team raise additional funds through the special events listed above. We will have a Hospitality Suite at the
Princess Royale Hotel where the swim takes place. All Roost members are welcome to attend the
event to cheer on and support the Team.
Team members DO NOT have to get fully in the ocean!! You only have to get your feet wet. And there is a heated indoor pool to jump
into to warm up afterwards. There will
be a signup sheet at
the meeting if you want to join.

Ravens Roost 44 Home Game Trip is cancelled due to lack of group
sales by the Baltimore Ravens. However…
Ocean
Pines Rec and Parks is trying to get a trip together. This is from Kevin Powell @ Rec and Parks:
We’d like to get a 57-passenger bus for this.
Ends up being about $475/person
Includes all food/beer/wine/seltzer/soda for 2 hours
before game, bus transportation and a ticket to the game. Also, Poe, the
Cheerleaders and the Marching band would visit the tent while we all eat and
enjoy some beverages. Seats would be in first 3 rows of 500 level.
Let me know if your Ravens Roost folks would be
interested, please
Thanks,
Kevin

Funny Poop
A country rube is about to get
married and he asks his Pa, “Pa, how can I tell if I’m the first feller Norma
Sue has ever been with on our wedding night?”
“Well that’s easy son. Just do
what I did on my own wedding night. All
ya need is some red paint, some blue paint, and a shovel.”
“What the heck do I need those things fer?”
“Well son, you take the red paint and you color one of yer testicles red,
then you take the blue paint and ya color the other one blue.”
“Really! And then what Pa?”
“Well then if she says that that’s the strangest looking pair o’ balls
she’s ever seen, ya hit her with the shovel!”
