Convention:

It’s not too soon to be thinking about this year’s convention, which is scheduled for May 28^th – May 31^st. The theme for this year’s convention is “Purple Waves & Island Days”. The Council has added light food and live music to Thursday’s activities, something new from years past.

Here's the convention schedule, and a sign up sheet will be provided at the February meeting.

Parade:

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Saturday, March 14, beginning 12pm @ 60^th Street. As is our tradition, we will meet prior to the parade at the parking lot at Beach Copy on 59^th Street bayside. Tailgating begins 10am - BYOB. Members, you can bring your family and friends to march as well – the more the merrier!

This is a parade that is all about fun – no competition – We’re not worried about winning any prizes. We have music and stuff to throw to the folks lining the parade route. Wear something festive – we have our purple vests to wear over top so we look somewhat together.

The parade runs from 60^th Street to 45^th Street, so it’s best to park somewhere close to the end of the parade route so you’re close to your vehicle when we finish.

Afterwards, we plan to meet at the Tavern on Rt. 54 in Selbyville. All marchers are welcome. The Roost will provide food for everyone who marched. The Tavern has reasonable prices for drinks to purchase.

A sign up sheet will be available at the February meeting. I’d like to have as many people sign up in February because I will not be at the March meeting.

Apparel:

The on-line store is currently closed and will reopen in February with March shipping.

Entertainment:

Entertainment mtgs will be at 6:30 before every monthly Roost mtg.- Please consider joining so we can plan more fun things to do in the coming year.

House:

Our permanent meeting host is the American Legion Post 166 located at Coastal Hwy and 23^rd Street. At the request of the Legion, meetings will now be on the first Tuesday of each month.

Roost members please enter through the handicap door on the 23^rd street north side.

Be sure to sign in at the table at the door.

The general membership meeting starts promptly at 7:30. There may be some committee

meetings going on before that. However, members are invited and encouraged to arrive as

early as 6:00 to enjoy drinks and food specials The Post kitchen stays open until 7:30 on

our meeting nights to accommodate us. This is a great time to enjoy the facility and engage

with other members. The Post accepts cash only.

He called his kids together to ask which one should have the present.

"Who is the most obedient?" he asked. "Who never talks back to mother? Who does everything she says?"

Five small voices answered in unison. "Okay, dad, you get the toy."
