- Tuesday, September 24 - HARRINGTON BUS TRIP. We had some cancellations. We are short 7 folks to make it to a 40 headcount. You need 40 to get the free play, etc. We can take up to 55, but we are at a 33 count. If you can talk it up, that would be Great. Cost is $20.00 per person which includes $10.00 free play, a lunch buffet, and your bus seat. The 55 passenger Bus departs Montego Bay (130th street) at 8:30 am with a second stop at the Millsboro’s Roses Store on Route 113. Bus departs Harrington at 3pm. Guests are welcome. To sign up, Call Paul and Trish at H# 302-436-9017. You will need to give Paul and Trish either your Harrington Player Card Number or your Birthday Date. We also need a phone # at which we can contact you. Mail a check immediately after you sign up to 36977 Laws Points Rd, Selbyville, DE 19975. Check is made out to Raven Roost #44. Call and Sign up early! You can also pay at the August or September meeting. Spread the word for those who don’t have a computer.
- October 4 – 7 – The Ravens Roost #44 road trip will be the Ravens/Dolphins game being played on Sunday, October 6th at 1pm.
- Friday, December 6 – Ravens Roost #44 Christmas Party @ the Cove Restaurant @ Bayside. More details soon.
- January 1, 2014 - The Penguin Swim to Benefit AGH: The web site is up and it is once again time to join the RR44 Penguin Swim Team. The past 3 years we have taken 3rd place in the Team division. This year, the categories have been changed so that Bars and commercial establishments (like Bull on the Beach) have their own division. That means Civic clubs like ours will be competing against each other, so we have a huge opportunity to take first place in our division! We will have a hospitality room again this year for the participants to use before and after getting wet for a good cause. I would like to have a team meeting before the next roost meeting to strategize how we can take first place this year. Please let me know if you can meet at The Ox about 6:30 Thursday. - Today - 9/11 Parade of Brothers - 2013. This annual event is a motorcycle ride and memorial service to commemorate 9/11/2001. Parade Wednesday, September 11 from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on the Boardwalk from 27th Street to North Division Street.
- Tomorrow thru Sunday - OC Bikefest, Roland E. Powell Convention Center and the Inlet Parking Lot. - Joe, a billionaire, was in a dilemma. His wife's birthday was approaching and he didn't have a clue what to gift her. There was nothing that she didn't already have.
So, when he shared his problem with a friend, the friend suggested, "I have a great idea. You can prepare a certificate for her which declares she can have three hours of great love making, and in any manner she likes. She should be delighted!"
Joe followed his friend's advise. The next day, when Joe met his friend, his buddy asked, "So, did you take my advice? How did it go? Did you have fun?"
Joe replied, "Oh, she loved it. She was ecstatic, couldn't thank me enough - she kissed me, and ran out of the house, shouting, "I will be back in three hours!"
