  • Tuesday, September 24 - HARRINGTON BUS TRIP.  The Harrington bus trip on 9/24 is full!!!! As there are sometimes late cancellations, we will start a waiting list if anyone is still interested.   • October 4 – 7 – The Ravens Roost #44 road trip will be the Ravens/Dolphins game being played on Sunday, October 6th at 1pm.

  • January 1, 2014 - The Penguin Swim to Benefit AGH:  The web site is up and it is once again time to join the RR44 Penguin Swim Team.  The past 3 years we have taken 3rd place in the Team division.  This year, the categories have been changed so that Bars and commercial establishments (like Bull on the Beach) have their own division.  That means Civic clubs like ours will be competing against each other, so we have a huge opportunity to take first place in our division!  We will have a hospitality room again this year for the participants to use before and after getting wet for a good cause.  Ask your friends to join our team and go to the link below to sign up under "OC Ravens Roost #44 Penguin Swim Team".  http://penguinswim.atlanticgeneral.org/search.cfm.  Thanks, Gary

  • The Ravens defeated the Factory of Sadness 14-6 in the home opener to remain in 1st place in the AFC North.  Sunday, the Ravens host Ed Reed and the undefeated Houston Texans at M&T Bank Stadium, 1 pm.  Ray Lewis is scheduled to be inducted into the Ring of Honor.

  • Tomorrow - Lecture: Pirates of the Delmarva Coast | Celebrate International Talk Like A Pirate Day, Poplar Hill Mansion.  Come celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day and learn about real pirates that were in and around the Delmarva Peninsula.   • Friday thru Sunday - Burning up the Beach Car Show | 3 Full Days of Live Music and Entertainment; Airlift Entertainment.
    • Welcome to “Burning up the Beach” Car Show, a Car Festival and Rock and Roll Music weekend unlike any event you have ever seen on Delmarva and relive the best decade in history!
    • This event will showcase and represent many car clubs both locally and long distance. This year’s car show is formatted solely to cars from the 50′s through 1978. The intent of this show is to keep the event as true and nostalgic to that era for the public to enjoy and appreciate the great times of the past. In attendance throughout this event as the M/C for the evening Sock Hop will be the popular Nationwide DJ Oldies Sirius Radio personality “Bobby B” who is in part sponsoring this show. There will be Elvis tribute performers and female tribute artists performing live onstage. Aside from various foods, exhibitors selling general merchandise and car part vendors, there will be dance contests, trivia, 50/50 raffles along with many other entertaining fun-filled activities. Special awards will be given out for the most unusual paint job, most radical engine, best accessories, longest drive, people’s choice and much more!
    • Oldie groups and bands will be showcased and performing live onstage throughout the day and evening. In between band sets will be great rock and roll music playing bringing back those great memories. ”Burning up the Beach” Car Show will also be hosting a 50′s through 70′s open mic Karaoke Show from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday the 28th.     • On Friday and Saturday night all car show registrants can also experience the excitement of open air drive— in movies simulating a 50′s outdoor drive-in movie theater. In keeping with the 50′s and 60′s fun atmosphere and era, great science fiction thrillers, horror and car related movies will be shown for everyone’s enjoyment.   • Saturday - Believe In Tomorrow Annual 5K Beach Race | Benefitting Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation, Bayside Resort & Golf Club. Race to support critically ill children and their families!  Believe In Tomorrow’s 4th Annual Beach Race is back for another great year, once again featuring the Centipede Division! Runners and walkers are invited to participate individually, as part of a team, or as part of a human centipede. The 5k course takes participants through the beautiful – and very flat! – Bayside Community Resort and Golf Course – an enjoyable route for all. Register today to take part in this exciting event!  Immediately following the race, everyone is invited to join in the post-race party and awards ceremony at The Freeman Stage.  Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation offers beach retreat housing in Fenwick Island and Ocean City for critically ill children and their families. Here, families find respite from illness while relaxing on the beach or taking part in many complimentary activities offered by local business partners. All proceeds from the race will benefit Believe In Tomorrow’s three beach respite properties in Delaware and Maryland.
  • Saturday - Maryland Coast Day | Learn How We Can Protect the Coastal Bays, Assateague State Park.  Assateague State Park serves as the location for this popular festival. Join us for an array of exhibits, live animal programs, kite flying and sand castle building demonstrations and more. Learn about what visitors and residents can do to protect the coastal bays and visit our touch tanks to get a close encounter with some of the island’s fascinating inhabitants. Live music and food vendors will also be on hand.  State Park entrance fees will be waived for visitors to this event. For more information, call Maryland Coastal Bays Program at (410) 213-2297. This is a free event. All ages are welcome.
  • Saturday & Sunday - Park Place Jewelers Annual Treasure Hunt at the Beach, Park Place Jewelers on the the Beach.  Annual Treasure Hunt at the Beach to be held on the beach in front of Park Place Jewelers on the Boardwalk (2nd and 3rd Street at the Park Place Hotel).   The first 100 people registered for each day will be able to participate.  A $10.00 entry fee/donation is required to participate.  The local charity this year is Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation.   Rain or Shine.   Prizes include diamond earrings, a Pandora bracelet, silver jewelry, loose gem stones and gift certficates to local boardwalk businesses.  Saturday at 4 p.m. & Sunday at 1pm.  Pre-Registration is required; participants must be 18 years old.  Contact Jill Ferrante at 410-289-6500 or visit http://www.parkplacejewelers.com.
  • Sunday - Somerset Plaza - Free Live Concert, Somerset Plaza between the Boardwalk and Baltimore Ave.  Enjoy a new series of FREE special events and concerts on Somerset Plaza, located on Somerset Street between the Boardwalk and Baltimore Avenue in downtown Ocean City.  All events start at 3pm.  OC Cruzer cars will be on display during all music events.  Somerset Plaza is a semi-pedestrian street that is closed to all vehicular traffic during these special events.
