Roost #44 Poop

From the Prez –
Meeting
Location
All
members are encouraged to attend the next meeting at OC 360 on May 9 at 7:30
PM. We will discuss the future location of our monthly meetings. OC 360 has
changed the conditions which we have been
meeting under. The House Committee has investigated some alternative
locations and we will be discussing these options as well as whether we should
stay at OC 360 at the May 9th meeting.Scholarship
Golf
Tournament
We still
need our members to beat the bushes and sign up sponsors and donations to the
22nd Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament being held on May 31st. Informational materials on how you can help or
donate are available at each Roost meeting.
Co-Chair
Don McMullen and I want to thank the members who have stepped up to keep the
Scholarship Golf Tournament going as one of the Roost's chief fund raisers -
Fitz Lahner, Pat Lahner, Matt Herrmann, Mike Eder and Kim Eder. Volunteers from previous years who stayed on
to help include Bob Rose and Gary Miller.
As
usual, we are looking for donations of beer, wine and liquor for the Basket of
Cheer for the luncheon. Donations will
be picked up at the April and May Roost meetings. Members are also encouraged to sign up a T
Sign Sponsor, make an individual donation or donate special sports memorabilia
you may want to contribute for the luncheon held after the Tournament.
We also
need volunteers to help get materials ready the day before the Tournament and
to help run the Tournament at the Ocean Pines Golf Course. Come join us, it’s fun! See Don or Eric to see how you can contribute
and help.
Remember
that your Roost Membership card entitles you to a 20% discount on food,
beverage & apparel purchases at the Original Greene Turtle. We encourage
Roost members and Roost Committees to patronize the Original Greene Turtle. By
the way, the Original Greene Turtle is a major sponsor of our College Golf
Scholarship Tournament every year and we appreciate their support.
My white
Ford pickup truck will be at the next meeting. The back will be open if you would like to
donate plastic bags to Diakonia (local food bank and homeless shelter). The bags are used to help distribute food
contributions to the needy. Simply put
your plastic bags (TIED UP TIGHTLY) in the bed of the truck. This is a great way to recycle plastic bags
for a good cause.

A woman goes into the local newspaper office to see
that the obituary for her recently deceased husband is written. The obit. editor informs her that the fee for
the obituary is 50 cents a word. She
pauses, reflects and then says, Well, then let it read "Fred Brown
died."
Amused at the woman's thrift, the editor tells her that there is a 7 word minimum for all obituaries. Only a little flustered, she thinks thing over and in a few seconds says, In that case, let it read, "Fred Brown died: 1983 Pickup for sale."
