Roost #44 Poop
·         (Frank’s note: All items subject to change/cancellation)

·         From the Prez
Well it looks like some areas are opening up meaning the boardwalk and beaches for Ocean City and soon to follow the Delaware beaches and boardwalks…it still means to walk, exercise and social distancing…just a hint that this weekend is looking pretty good.

If you paid your dues already and looking to sport around some Ravens Roost #44 clothing the website will open during May…site is http://ravensroost44.itemorder.com/sale.

The NFL announced its 2020 schedule last Thursday and The Ravens according to the experts have an easy schedule to face this year...our Ravens resident expert Steve Szalsa will comment on his review.

Two members on our board Rich Hanson and Ron Staines will be having surgeries in the coming weeks. .hope the best for them both.. will notify Marian

Don McMullen will be setting up the selection process for the Golf Scholarships…Don will have more information.

Nothing else to report…Stay safe and use good judgment if and when you go out venturing in this crazy times we’re experiencing.

·         Dates to Remember:
o    6/11/2020 – Monthly Roost Meeting
o    6/27/2020 – Summer Picnic
o    7/9/2020 – Monthly Roost Meeting
o    8/13/2020 – Monthly Roost Meeting
o    10/31/2020 – Bull/Oyster Roast
o    12/12/2020 – Christmas Party

·         Membership: We currently have 121 paid members.  Thanks all!
·         Wellness: Please call Marian Cicero @ 410.250.2501 or 443.880.0862 if you know of a Roost member in need of a message of encouragement or a sympathy card for a family member.  Please, no texts or emails.

·         House: As stated in the last three Poops, the Abbey Burger (which made an outstanding offer in the winter) has decided not to reopen in 2020 and will be evaluating 2021.  Our list of possible meeting venues has gotten shorter.  If considerations of social distancing continue on, then Denney's that was marginal before may now be off the list.  Alley Oops may now be marginal.

The Board of Directors met recently and recommended that any meetings we might have from now until the end of the season should be held at the American Legion.  They have been booked for May, June, July, August and Sept if they happen.

Voting for the "most of the time favorite" will of course be delayed and will likely include only the American Legion (available all year) and Alley Oops (off season only).  Others would likely be for emergencies only.  Our situation seems to be ever changing.

·         Scholarship Golf: We would like to have the Scholarship Committee review 2020 College Scholarship applications the middle of May.

Indian River, Stephen Decatur and Worcester Preparatory high school counselors have started mailing in applications for their seniors.

We plan to announce the recipients the week of May 18th.

·         Penguin Swim:  Until further notice, the Penguin Swim fundraising activities have been put on hold.  Once it is safe to do so, we will start planning events.

·         Apparel: Ravens Roost #44 Online Store is open again until the end of May.  Get your gear now @ https://ravensroost44.itemorder.com/sale.

·         Entertainment:
o    Entertainment meetings are suspended until further notice.

o    Shorebirds Game: No word from Shorebirds but we have a deposit down and it has not been canceled.  If game is played, we will need to hustle to meet our guarantee of 30.  Please think about it and be prepared to sign up and pay $30pp when we next meet.  Remember this is open to outsiders.

Funny Poop
·         A father is explaining ethics to his son, who is about to go into business...
"Suppose a woman comes in and orders a hundred dollars worth of material.  You wrap it up, and you give it to her.  She pays you with a $100 bill.  But as she goes out the door, you realize she's given you two $100 bills.  Now, here's where the ethics come in: should you or should you not tell your partner?

Etcetera
·         Got Poop?  Let me know!  I’m going to try to get this out every Wednesday so if you get it to me by Tuesday, I’ll try to include it.  Your input is appreciated.
