Roost
#44 Poop
-
From the Prez - The next meeting of the Roost will be held on September 14th at The Big Easy on 60th St. at 7:30PM. The October Roost meeting date has been changed from October 12 to October 19. This was caused because a majority of the Board of Directors are unable to attend on the 12th. The October 19th meeting will be at the Original Greene Turtle.Vice President Maggie Miller has informed me that she will not be seeking re-election in January. I appreciate Maggie giving advanced notice so that we can begin a search for someone to fill out the one year that will remain of Maggie's term next year. I want to thank Maggie for her service especially as Chair of the Entertainment Committee.2017- The 20th Anniversary of Roost #44: As mentioned previously, 2017 marks the 20th Anniversary of Roost #44, which began meeting in 1998 under President Buddy Miller. To mark this anniversary, Treasurer Sandy Taras is updating an annual summary of the major activities and trips of the Roost which was last printed in 2004. Part of the report is naming the winner of the Member of the Year Award which was started in 2006. We are missing the names of the winners of the award in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2015. Please advise Sandy or myself if you were the winner of this award in those years. If you are interesting in recommending a Member of the Year for 2017, you must talk to a Board member, an Officer or a previous Member of the Year winner. These are the only members authorized to officially nominate a member for the award. This will occur at the next meeting of the Board on September 14th. We are also creating a Raven Roost #44 20th Anniversary T shirt to commemorate this milestone.Council of Baltimore Raven Roosts: Once a year the Council accepts nominations from Roost members for donations to worthy local charities. This Year, the Board of Directors of Roost #44 submitted a request to the Council for a donation of $500 for Diakonia. I am pleased to announce the Council approved our request and we are one of 38 Roosts who's request was approved by the Council.
