Roost #44 Poop
·
From the Prez – The
September Roost meeting will be moved to September 6, since the Ravens will
be in Cincinnati on our normally scheduled meeting day. Remember you can go straight into our meeting
room and order food. You don't have to
go to the bar to order food and drinks.
The
Council of Raven Roosts awards local Roosts donations for local charities each
year. This year, Roost #44 was awarded a
donation of $750.00 for Diakonia, the local food bank and homeless shelter. Roost #44 donated $ 100.00 to the Council Dip
Bowl contest. Funds raised from the Dip
Bowl are donated to the O.J. Brigance Foundation for ALS research.
The
Raven Rap radio show starts September 5th at the Original Greene Turtle at
6:30. There will be game day raffles for
several games like last year. Panelists
include MC Mike Bradley, Bobby Vermillion and Tony Lombardi.
Please
think about stepping up to volunteer for Board and Officer positions and the
Golf Scholarship Committee next year. Don't
hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the responsibilities for
any of these positions. eric_waterman@comcast.net or 410-598-4597.
Remember that your Roost Membership card entitles
you to a 20% discount on food, beverage & apparel purchases at the Original
Greene Turtle (116th St.). We encourage
all Roost members and committees to patronize the Original Greene Turtle!
Remember that we collect plastic grocery bags at
every Roost meeting. These bags are used
by Diakonia (Local Food Bank & Homeless Shelter) to distribute food
contributions to the needy. My white
Ford pickup truck is parked in front of OC 360 at every Roost meeting. Simply put your plastic bags (tied up
tightly) in the bed of the truck. This
is a great way to recycle plastic bags for a good cause.

Dolly
Parton and Queen Elizabeth went to the Pearly Gates on the same day.
They both met with an Angel to find out if they would be admitted to Heaven.
The angel said "Unfortunately, there's only one space in Heaven today so I must decide which one of you will be admitted."
The Angel asked Dolly if there was some particular reason why she should go to Heaven. Dolly took off her top and said, "Look at these, they're the most perfect breasts God ever created and I'm sure it will please God to be able to see them every day, for eternity."
The Angel thanked Dolly, and asked Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the same question.
The Queen walked over to a toilet, pulled the lever and flushes it without saying a word.
The Angel immediately said, "OK, your Majesty, you may go into Heaven."
Dolly was outraged and asked, "What was that all about? I showed you two of God's own perfect creations and you turned me down. She simply flushed a commode and she got admitted to Heaven! Would you explain that to me?
"Sorry, Dolly," said the Angel, "but even in Heaven, a royal flush beats a pair - no matter how big they are."
